The Chianti region is not large but it is very rich from a naturalistic viewpoint, with a valuable historic and artistic profile and a generous offering of food and wine. The Chiantigiana, one of the most beautiful roads in Italy, crosses the whole of the Chianti region from Florence to Siena.  The stretch that goes to Siena from Gaiole in Chianti is known as the road of castles - a succession of villages and fortified parish churches set amidst the splendid countryside featuring vineyards, woods and olive-groves. This beautiful property is situated 3 Km. from Gaiole in Chianti.  It is surrounded by a large garden interposed between vineyards and age-old trees, where a private 6 x 15 m. swimming pool has been built with a solarium supplied with sunbeds and areas of natural shade provided by the old trees. The wood has practicable pathways that make it possible to take strolls as far as the river. Xavier 8 consists of two buildings, a villa and an annex which are very close together.  The annex is distributed over two floors and has been furnished combining elements with a traditional flavor with furnishings and objects with a modern and contemporary design, whilst the villa is more sober and maintains the architectural characteristics of a classic Tuscan farmhouse. Both have their own kitchen with dishwasher, two laundry rooms, barbecue area, washing machine, hair dryer, satellite TV, DVD player, mosquito screens in the bedrooms, WI-FI internet connection and outdoor area for eating “al fresco”. There are numerous restaurants and pizzerias in the area.  Gaiole offers all the necessary services, supermarkets and food stores. Guests can also enjoy a 10% discount at restaurants in the nearby Castello di Spaltenna: La Terrazza (lunch service) and Il Pievano (dinner service, 1 Michelin star)
