PositanoPositano is a small town situated in a cove on a mountain, about 30 kilometers from Naples. With its rows of white, pink and peach coloured houses, Positano is considered one of the most picturesque and photogenic cities on the Italian coast. A familiar feature of this town is the Santa Maria dell 'Assunta church, situated on the beach, adorned with a beautiful yellow green dome. Another attraction is the museum Franco Senesi, where exhibitions are held by more than 20 contemporary artists and sculptors. Also the hotel Pallazo Murat, a former palace, is well worth a visit! If you love fashion, you are definitely in the right place with designer silk scarves, clothing made in Positano and handmade shoes. What can also be found here are small craft shops selling local products such as colourful and stylish ceramics. A few kilometres outside of Positano are the Grotta di Smeraldo; enchanting green caves which are very suitable for a nice day trip. Of course it is also possible to stay at the beach for a day, called "Marina Grande", which is the main beach of Positano. There are also some more quiet beaches, where you can really relax; for example, Spiaggia del Fornillo. Positano can be reached by flying to Naples and drive to your destination from there.
